This interview I did with social science academy student member, Bridget, Bridget made a post sharing about her wins the first quarter of this year and kind of what’s happened in her business when she did the Goal Getter challenge. So I knew that you would be encouraged by her story. I knew that you would love to hear her testimony. So without further ado, I’m going to let you listen to this interview. I did with academy student Bridget,.

Kristen Boss (02:10):  Okay. I am here with Social Selling Academy member, Bridget and I brought Bridget on because she made this post a celebration post inside the Social Selling Academy. And we are big about celebrating in there. And when I saw her post, I was so thrilled. I made a comment. I’m like excuse me, my team is going to be reaching out to you. We have to interview you on the podcast just because I love your story so much. And I think people need to hear it. So Bridget, if my, my audience doesn’t know you, so share a little bit about who you are and when you joined the academy and like where your business was at when you joined

Bridget (02:42):  You bet. Yeah. So I joined when you did your three day launch class at the end of 2020, so.

Kristen Boss (02:50):  Sustainable. Oh, sustainable success. The first one.

Bridget (02:53):  First one.

Kristen Boss (02:54):  Oh my gosh. You’re an OG. I love it. Okay. Keep going.

Bridget (02:57):  Yep. And so I joined I just come off of a year of qualifying for our company’s reward trip, but it was miserable. The last month I had like $7,000 to sell. I had never sold that much and totally burned out. And in those three days where you were explaining what the Social Selling Academy was, you totally sold me in like two hours of listening to of like, I need this. And I’m like, if she can sell me in two hours, I can learn how to share with others, why they need my product and how my product is life changing for them. So I’m a full-time physical therapist. I live in Boise, Idaho. And I’ve been with my company for just over two years. And so this year’s been awesome. I’ve really started doing the 90 day challenge. Pretty consistently. I also did it last year in the last three months of last year, where amazing as well because of it. And this year we were just chatting about this, but yes, I’ve, I’ve already surpassed this year, what I’ve made in all of last year. So I’m so proud of that. So excited learning to celebrate myself.

Kristen Boss (04:03):  You made that post. I think you made that post at the end of April. So it was like the first four months of 2022. You made all of what you made in all of 2021, which is so extraordinary. Thank you. I’m so proud of you. You should be so proud of yourself.

Bridget (04:19): I am. I’m so excited.

Kristen Boss (04:21):  I think partly what’s, what’s fascinating about your story is you’ve been in the academy for a while, so you’ve really been able to glean from the lifetime part of the program that it’s always available for you and that we have added to it because the Goal Getter challenge we implemented in fall of 2021. So you’d been in the academy for about nine months leading up to that. And then you did your first Goal Getter challenge. And what we teach in the academy is the first Goal Getter Challenge is really about you learning how it feels to consistently engage in your business and show up and find all your stories. And so some people hit all their goals in the first goal get around and then some people are like, okay, I learned so much about myself and see all the fruit in the second round. So what about the Goal Getter Challenge made a difference for you.

Bridget (05:10):  Okay. I’m so glad you asked that because I keep telling my team, I keep telling my friends who are in network marketing, I was not able to check off all five boxes every single day because I worked full time. I just, I tried, but honestly I just couldn’t. Okay. So I, I was able to set this amount of time aside per day, and I did it as much as I could. But the biggest thing that made the biggest difference was, is I made an offer every single day. So even if it was just that one box that I checked off and, and quite interestingly, I, when I started this, I was like, how am I going to make an offer every single day? I don’t know who I’m going to make an offer to. I don’t know what I’m going to make an offer about. And so through the challenge, learning how to do that and how to come up with an offer that can serve people and not just like, Hey, buy my product. So it was really neat. I, I keep telling people just make it one offer every day and you will see such a big difference in your business.

Kristen Boss (06:08):  Yes. And people tend to have a lot of drama around offer, wear offer to who offer how, but in the academy we do, we, we offer so much education on like where to go find your people, how to find your people, where to engage, where to connect and all of those things. And what’s interesting, you said I couldn’t hit every box every day. And so for someone who doesn’t know what the challenge is, what the box is is we call it the gray box, because everybody knows to make money. You do the work in the gray box and there’s a lot of coaching around that. And there’s, I think there’s five boxes to tick off. Yeah. And I think I encourage, like if you really want to explode your business tick every box, you know, every day. But I think I’ve also shared, like if you even did three of five, two of five, you would still see growth in your business. And mostly, and a lot of people think like, okay, well I have an income pro producing activity tracker that my company provides me. My team provides me again, like what is the nuance and difference with the Social Selling Academy? Like why, why would, why should someone join it when they would say, well, I get this from my team.

Bridget (07:12):  Totally. Well, it’s funny because I’ve shared that with my team. Like, Hey, you got to make an offer every single day, but I really believe that a lot of my team and some of my sideline sisters, they they could do the action and they could do the action. We, you talk about this all the time through scarcity or through abundance. And I really believe the other part of the 90 day challenge that allowed this success to happen was all of this. Not every single day. Of course, I, I got stuck in some models and not, not every single day did I act from abundance, but I worked towards acting from abundance every single day. Mm. And so that makes a huge difference in assuming the best in my customers and my friends and my team. And going through the thought model with, with the crappy beliefs, because honestly in qualifying last all of 2020 for that reward strip, I mean, I was acting outta scarcity and I still qualified, but it’s because I was doing actions, but I barely squeaked by, and this year I have no, no doubt in my mind that I’ll make it.

Bridget (08:18):  I’ll enjoy my summer and heck, okay, this is super cool. So may, I’ve already qualified. This is one of our months so excited. And the first 10 days of this month, I was in Germany for my cousin’s wedding. And I didn’t work my business at all, but went, went live and, and showed my product like once a day for three days and I still made money. So it was so cool to just know that I could act and I could do my business from a place of abundance, be on vacation, enjoy my vacation, come back and still qualify this month. So it’s just, you’re

Kristen Boss (08:50):  Telling me, so what you’re telling me, cause people don’t believe me, so they need to hear it from the, hear the evidence. So what you’re telling me is you worked less, you’re enjoying your life more, you’re qualifying, you’re exceeding your goals. And it sounds like you’re enjoying the experience of how you’re reaching for your goals

Bridget (09:08):  Spot on. Exactly.

Kristen Boss (09:10):  Okay. I love that so much. I also want to hear, like, what do you feel like your lesson was for you doing the Goal Getter Challenge round one, like because round one, I believe, I believe round one the first 90 days is laying all the groundwork for the big harvest the second 90 days. So what do you feel you learned about yourself in the first 90 days?

Bridget (09:31):  The biggest thing was that I I’m still figuring out how to niche down on Instagram. And I’ve learned that I, I really default to feeling embarrassed, like, like a lot. And, and that’s like, that’s when I feel embarrassed, I like start to buffer and I start to do like, I’m not going to post because I don’t, I care what people think about me. And so the first 90 days I was like, why is it such a big deal for me to pick a niche? Because you talk about this. It’s not the circumstance. It’s not your niche that creates the result. It’s your thoughts? That do no. And so the first one was just really understanding myself and when I buffer what I think and how I feel the second one, did

Kristen Boss (10:16):  You feel like you had a picture of that before this? Or were you like, oh my gosh. I now understand yeah. My business behaviors and why I’m not consistent and the stories that happen before the behavior, right? Yeah.

Bridget (10:27):  Spot on. You hit the nail on the head. Yep, exactly. Yeah. So that just, it, the biggest part was just yeah. Understanding why I buffer, how I buffer and how to, how to change that into more actions that are from a place of abundance from trying things from expanding and knowing that growth feels uncomfortable and it’s okay to feel embarrassed. And if I feel embarrassed, I’m probably in a good spot. That means I’m growing. That means I’m, I’m getting.

Kristen Boss (10:52):  That’s so good. Like I think this is what the growth a lot of academy students have. If they, they learn to feel the not fun feelings and still do the work instead of waiting to feel better, to go and engage in their business. So they learn like I can show up even on days where I don’t feel motivated. I don’t feel like enthusiastic. I might feel embarrassed. I might feel a little disappointed, but they can show up even in that. And that is really, truly the secret to consistency. And we teach, like we really teach all the tools in the mindset to stay consistent in your business. We give you the strategies. Like here’s how you show up on Instagram. Here’s what you do in Facebook. And here’s, here’s what it looks like to make an offer. And here’s like, and you learn a lot in copywriting. You learn like here’s words to use. Here’s what words that you don’t want to use. Here’s what helps convert. Here’s what doesn’t help convert. I also want to ask just because someone, I love that you’re in a full-time job as well. Is it full-time or part-time?

Bridget (11:48):  Full-Time

Kristen Boss (11:48):  Okay. This is perfect. So I love that you’re in a full-time job. You’re kind of speaking to where a lot of people might be and you know, it’s crazy summertime. And so full-time job. Are you able to make the live weekly coaching calls?

Bridget (12:00):  No, because I work when you’re there.

Kristen Boss (12:02):  But this is so good because people might think, wait, I can’t get results unless I’m there live. So how, how have you used the academy for you?

Bridget (12:10):  Because this, you are so genius. You put yours on podcast for members. I literally go on my walks on lunch, not every day or every week, but as often as, as I can I go on my walks on lunch and I just listen to the, to the podcast version of the live calls. It’s amazing. I’m like, yeah, she thinks of everything. It’s great. Yeah.

Kristen Boss (12:29):  And then when you’re hearing some and likely every time you hear me coach somebody, you’re like, oh, I totally struggle with that too. And I know, I now know exactly how to handle this. I’m also curious, like some people are like use Ask a Coach every single day. Some people have never used it. What have you used? Our Ask a Coach feature?

Bridget (12:46):  Funny. So I’ve used it probably three times because I, so, and one was around one of those actions in the gray box. You probably know which one I’m talking about. I had.

Kristen Boss (12:59):  Everyone’s the same one.

Bridget (13:00):  Everyone. I know. And I was like, I don’t know, I’m supposed to do this. What do I do with this? And, and it was such an easy response, like, well just, you know, do X, Y, Z, and here you go. And I was like, oh my gosh. Why didn’t I, why didn’t I think of that sooner? Why didn’t I ask sooner? So yes, most definitely. I’ve used it a handful of times. But in, in some of the people in my company there’s kind of, there’s a great culture in our company, which I love. But they talk a lot about doing messy action. Yeah. And so a lot of times, instead of going to ask a coach first, I I’ll try something. And if it doesn’t work, I’m like, mm, now I need to ask, ask a coach. So

Kristen Boss (13:42):  Yes. And that’s actually the that’s actually how we encourage you to use Ask a Coach in the academy is like, Hey, do the work evaluate, and then take it to the Ask a Coach to see what you might be missing to see that. And, and how we talk about Ask a Coach is it’s like, you know, highly trained support coaches that are certified in what I teach inside the academy. And they’re literally there. I’m like, it’s like having an upline in your back pocket at all times. Who’s trained in the academy, trained in the certification that, that I’m in as well. And so it really just helps you stay on track. So I tell people, I’m like, listen, you have a virtual upline in here. Use it as much as you can to help you stay on track. So I love that so much. And I love that. Literally you’re you qualify the first 10 days in may while you were out in Germany. Hello. Amazing. I love that. I feel like you are, you’ve offered a lot of encouragement. I’m sure. To not just the social science academy students, but to someone who’s contemplating the academy. And what would you say to somebody that’s on the fence? And they’re thinking like, but my paycheck, like it’s a $2,000 investment. Like my paycheck’s not there. What if it doesn’t work for me? Like what would you say to them?

Bridget (14:49):  So one of my teammates is considering it. And this is what I said to her, I was like, look, you’re going to invest in a business just as you would in any other business, what you invest, you’re going to get out. And her, her rebuttal was, well, what if I don’t? What if I don’t commit to it? What if I don’t spend the time doing the work and then it ends up being a waste? Mm. I was like, well, that’s why there is an upfront cost, firstly. But secondly, if you are committing to pay $2,000, which is, I believe what it is now, you can bet that you are going to commit yourself to learn and to act. And if you don’t see the results, well, that’s on you. And you can change that. You can always change that. Cause you’re in for life. It’s not just like a year long program. And so, yes.

Kristen Boss (15:35):  If you’re in for life, you get to like, anytime your, your doubt is low. You’re like, oh shoot. I didn’t show up for myself. You get to dust yourself off, immediately engage. You can use the Ask a Coach. You can check in with the podcast, the weekly calls, like we have provided so many tools in there to keep people on track for people who want results in their business. Like if, as long as you want results, there’s literally a stupid amount of tools. And we’re about to even do more, which is super exciting.

Kristen Boss (16:02):  Exciting. I know. And so it’s just like, I, I think it’s good to speak to the person. That’s like, okay, well, what if I, what if I don’t commit? What if I don’t put in the work, but we really have made it that way. And by the time this airs we’ll be announcing actually we’re doing a payment plan for the first time ever. So it’s now even more approachable for someone to come in. It’s only four, it’s four installments of 500. So it still is like giving them the buy-in, but it helps. We really wanted to help people get in the door sooner, get to the work and access their belief if they couldn’t make the mental jump of the upfront cost. And so when we’re announcing this it’s, I just couldn’t, I’m so excited to share with people. I’m like, okay, we’re going to get them in the work. We’re going to get them results. And we’re creating brand new systems to help people, you know, get, earn their investment back as quickly as possible. But now what’s so fun is you get to enjoy like just using all the assets of the program for the rest of your social selling career.

Bridget (16:56):  I know it’s amazing. It’s not going anywhere. No, I know. I love it. I love it.

Kristen Boss (17:00):  I love it. All right. So, Bridget, what is your, what is your thoughts about your goals for this year now that you have the tools and you understand yourself so much more?

Bridget (17:08):  So it’s funny last year before I saw major success, because it was before I started the first 90 days I, I had the goal, I was like, you know, I’m going to sell $40,000 and okay. I only sold, I don’t even know. Gosh, like 20,000 last year only is in, in comparison. That’s a lot of, of stuff. Right. I get that. But I said it without so much with, without believing it, without thinking that it’s actually possible. And now I’m like, oh my gosh, of course I’m going to sell 40,000. Absolutely no problem. You know, I’m already at 30,000, so no problem. It’s fine. So really exciting. Excited to go into this year with confidence and just to continue to do my coaching. It’s funny. Cause I, I don’t think I ever want to work my business without the workbook. Yeah. So I am going in 90 day chunks, but it’s so you make it easy, right? We can just order a new one, no big deal. So I have my next one waiting for me. I’m finishing this one and then I’ll start my next one next month.

Kristen Boss (18:11):  I love this one last thought like, you know, people are going to be seeing this right after they watch the summer of success event. And how important do you think it is for somebody who’s stressing about summer and thinking like, okay, I want to enjoy my summer travel have summer fun, but I don’t want my business to feel hard and exhausting. And I am afraid of putting my business on the back burner. Like why is it important for them to be in the academy during the summer?

Bridget (18:36):  That’s exactly why they have to be in the academy because work feels so easy. Now I do one action or five actions every day you pick, right? Depends what my work schedule’s like how many patients I see, but doing this small chunk of work every day makes it so much more attainable to do the work and then go and enjoy my day, stress free and not worry about doing anymore. And so I tell my husband, I’m like, Hey, I have to get an hour of work done. Let’s hang out afterwards. It’s like, okay, great. And then the rest of the day, I’m not on my phone. Like, oh my gosh, what do I else do? I need to do stressing scrolling, buffering. And so it just creates a lot of freedom.

Kristen Boss (19:15):  Has your, has your husband noticed this change in you?

Bridget (19:19):  Oh yeah. Oh my gosh. He’s like bridge you’re so you’re so peaceful lately. What’s going on? I was like, yeah, coaching.

Kristen Boss (19:27):  I have a managed mind. I’m coaching. It’s amazing.
